We Are Not Onlookers(我们不是看客)

A whole series of frightful calamities came irrevocably as a bolt from the blue in 2008,which rocked the nation and struck sadness into our hearts. But our show of the utmost fortitude and unity in the extreme adversities was nothing short of a true manifestation of the spirit of the Chinese nation.

We are absolutely not onlookers! The national disasters have recalled us to a sense of our duties. We’re duty-bound to release those in the depth of misery from their suffering. Some of my schoolmates collected all the waste paper, plastic bottles and aluminum cans in their  dormitories and turned the trash into a donation of ¥1999 to the quake-hit people. We acted in the belief that love is never-ending!

Confronted with such a wretched plight, the post-1980s generation, which used to be known as a lost generation, have  gone from strength to strength.  Nothing can rain on our parade!
